The relationship between medicine and psychoanalysis has always been a subject of debate in the field of health. While medicine is based on empirical science and evidence-based treatment, psychoanalysis, developed by Sigmund Freud in the late 19th century, focuses on the exploration of the unconscious and subjective aspects of human experience. This article seeks to explore whether there is a current and viable interface between these two areas, reviewing the existing literature and offering a critical reflection on the potential integration of both in the modern context of health.
